Determining the distance between one or more points has always been one of the basic functionalities of any GIS application. Whether it is a simple web-client or an expert GIS,  measuring the distance is available.

However there is no GIS which allows for measuring the distance without clicking at least three times. Until now. Now there is the clever GeoRuler available for the Microsoft Surface. Just place the tangible GeoRuler on the Surface and read the distance. This tool is highly appreciated by our GIS and non-GIS expert users because it is so intuitive and matches their daily work.

The scale-bar on the GeoRuler automatically changes when zooming in or out. And of course you can rotate and move the GeoRuler around just by moving the tangible object around. Measuring distances has never been easier.
